Dear PYLUSD Families,
The entire Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) Expanded Learning Department hopes that everyone is safe and doing well. We are hoping we may be able to provide summer child care as we continue to monitor restrictions and safety protocols that guide our decision.
We have developed a survey to determine the need of our PYLUSD families for Summer 2020. Please visit the link below to complete the “Survey: Summer Camp 2020.” The survey will be open from Wednesday, May 27, 2020 to Friday, June 5, 2020. Once we have compiled the data from this survey, and it is deemed safe for staff and students to proceed, we will determine if and when summer camp would start with guidelines from state and local officials in place.
Normally during summer camp, we offer field trips to various locations and activities. Due to COVID-19, all summer field trips and assemblies have been cancelled. During summer camp, all safety procedures will be followed for child care providers and students in accordance with CDC, CAL-OSHA (California Occupational Safety and Health), Orange County Health Agency, and the State of California.
Summer camp sites will be determined based off the need determined through this survey. The cost will be $195 per week to cover all day (6:30 am to 6:00 pm) and to account for summer months with lower ratios and extra needed supplies.

Once we have determined it is safe for staff and students to proceed, we will determine if and when the Summer Camp 2020 would start with the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) /California and CDE (California Department of Education) guidelines in place.
During Summer Camp, all safety procedures will be followed for child care providers and students in accordance with CDC, CAL-OSHA (California Occupational Safety and Health), Orange County Health Agency, and the State of California.

Dear PYLUSD Expanded Learning Families,
Out of an abundance of caution, the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) Board of Education has taken action to temporarily close all schools, offices, expanded learning (childcare), preschool, and all before and after school programs. Schools and offices will be closed beginning Monday, March 16, 2020 through Friday, April 24, 2020. During this time, the District will monitor circumstances around coronavirus (COVID-19) and determine if additional days or weeks may be needed beyond the initial closure.
Once again, all PYLUSD schools and offices are scheduled to remain closed until April 24, 2020. This includes expanded learning (childcare), preschool, and all before and after school programs.
Many have asked about payments/refunds for the days programs are closed. Families that have paid their full amount for March already, will be credited the remaining days of March during the month of April. Therefore, your April invoice will be reduced based on the number of days that schools are closed.
If there are any financial circumstances that require a refund of paid program fees for the remaining days of March, please send us an email to the following email address: [email protected]. Our staff will process refund requests as soon as possible.
Also, I know some of our families are currently taking money out of your paycheck for daycare fees. Below is the link to the a letter to give to your employer to adjust the amount of with holdings while we are closed. If you need a different letter, please contact us at [email protected].
The Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District will continue to share new developments through its regular communications channels including emails, text messages, and/or phone calls, as well as social media.
